Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising the Third Edition of “CII NEXTGEN LOGISTICS & SUPPLY CHAIN CONCLAVE 2021” on Wednesday, 29th September 2021 from 0930 hrs - 1430 hrs on Digital Platform. The Third Edition of Nextgen Logistics & Supply Chain Conclave aims at highlighting the current impact and alternative solutions & strategies to cope in domestic and international logistics and supply chains sector and also bringing together decision makers from the business, government and corporate sector to discuss and come up with fruitful solutions.
India’s supply chain and logistics sector is one of the largest globally. The sector has the potential to grow multifold. India needs to effectively bridge the competitiveness gap of USD 180 billion vis-à-vis the supply chains of advanced nations and become a leading player globally. Logistics & supply chain are at the heart of ecommerce. Ecommerce is evolving faster than ever, one pause and you’ll be puzzled by the next big wave. Agility and flexibility in supply chain & logistics ensures the true optimization of the resources in burgeoning ecommerce market. The logistics and supply chain sector in India has today become a key performance indicator of the economy.
As per the Logistics Skill Council, the Indian logistics sector is valued at USD$ 150 billion, contributing 14.4 % of country’s GDP. With the easing of FDI norms, proposed implementation of GST, increasing globalization, growth of ecommerce, positive changes in the regulatory policies, and government initiatives such as “Sagarmala”, “Make in India”, the sector is expected to grow with faster pace. However, pandemic like Covid 19 virus outbreak has impacted the momentum in logistics and supply chain not only in India but globally and industry is also keen to adopt alternative solutions & strategies to cope in domestic and international logistics and supply chains in current scenario. Industry 4.0 & innovation in logistics and supply chain created new avenues globally and time has come to embrace ourselves to adopt new technologies to be future ready.
