The renewable energy sector in India has received substantial attention of global stakeholders from around the world. Today, India is one of the lowest cost producers of Renewable Energy in the world. The Government of India has also set ambitious targets for India’s Renewable Energy Installations making it an even more attractive sector for global investors. It is quite encouraging for the sector that the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) is looking at holistic development, including the building of a strong and vibrant supply chain in India.

India already has a robust and comprehensive supply chain with a mature eco-system and a sizable installed capacity for wind energy equipment manufacturing. We have all the advantages of setting up the same for solar energy. With our world renowned capabilities of quality manufacturing, cost-competitiveness, excellent R&D capabilities and large scale availability of engineering and skilled talent, India is ideally positioned to become a Global Hub for Renewable Energy manufacturing, which can meet domestic demand and create a sizable export economy.

To meet the above objective, the government has rightly adopted the strategy of developing local capabilities, making an "Aatmanirbhar Bharat".  In the last one year, the government has come out with various progressive policies to support RE manufacturing.

To continue the dialogue and present the Roadmap for Self-reliance in RE Manufacturing, CII is organizing the Second Edition of the Digital Conference & Exhibition “Aatmanirbhar Bharat - Self-Reliance for Renewable Energy Manufacturing”
