India and Europe have shared long standing trade and economic relations. Today, Europe is one of India’s largest trading partners. Given that total trade between India and Europe has significantly increased over the last few years, this might be an opportune time for both countries to intensify economic cooperation further. Together, the two sides can become a powerful economic force, having the potential to significantly drive global trade and investments.
Most recently, the two sides formally relaunched the negotiations on the India-EU and India-UK Trade Agreement (FTA). This is a strong signal from both sides to take forward an ambitious trade agenda, that seeks to further expand and deepen bilateral relations between the two.
Apart from strengthening trade and investment relations, an important focus area is trade and sustainability, which will enable the two sides to combat climate change together and achieve respective climate goals, promote high environmental standards, and expand the green economy.
Given this backdrop, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs is organizing the maiden edition of the “CII India Europe Business and Sustainability Conclave”, scheduled to be held during 28 February - 01 March 2023.
