Maritime sector is developing at a fast rate towards sustainable development. The global maritime community has launched a number of initiatives such as ports modernization, port connectivity, green energy, inland and coastal shipping and smart productions towards industry 4.0 in maritime sector. These advancements have rendered the management of maritime assets and their activities to be more safe, productive and secure. The number of initiatives by Government of India in the shipping industry including capacity building and modernisation of ports and maritime operations, inland waterways transportations and focus on environment sustainability of the Ocean, etc are noteworthy.
