India is a global leader in digital payments innovations, with digital payments volume growing at a CAGR of 55% between FY15 and FY20. Despite this growth, India continues to revamp its payments infrastructure, with initiatives such as the New Umbrella Entity (NUE) looking to transform payment systems, globalization of RuPay and UPI with the setup of NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), and the potential phased issuance of RBI’s own digital currency, in line with Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) initiatives around the world.
Against this backdrop, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the 4th edition of its "Digital & Cashless Economy Conference" with the theme "The next frontier in India’s payments innovation journey” on 27 August 2021 over the Virtual Platform.
The aim of the conference is to highlight the benefits of digital financial transactions and present emerging scenario in terms of "e-platforms" as well as "digital infrastructure' - the backbone of a cashless economy.
