CONSTRUCTION INFRA EXPO 2022
Engineered Construction & Infrastructure: Building India for a New World
7th – 31st March 2022 | CII HIVE Digital Platform
Even though the Covid-19 pandemic has had a negative influence on the world economy, commerce, investments, and financial flows, the construction & infrastructure sector has made a strong comeback, and the industry appears to be well positioned to capitalise on growth possibilities in residential, non-residential, and infrastructure projects. As it prepares to shift toward linked building capabilities, the industry has boosted its investments in digital, including through mergers and acquisitions, to support the nation's growth goal. These technologies can assist C&E companies in supporting efforts such as smart cities, urban air mobility, and climate change programmes, as well as improving internal operating efficiencies, lowering costs, and increasing margins.
By 2023, the worldwide construction and engineering market is expected to reach $10.5 trillion, with India's construction market expected to be the third largest in the world, rising at a rate of 7.1 percent per year. The sector employs 51 million people and provides 9% of India's GDP.
In response to this environment, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is hosting the Construction Infra Expo 2022 on a digital platform from 7th – 31st March 2022, with support from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, under the theme “Engineered Construction & Infrastructure: Building India for a New World”. Virtual displays and numerous B2B, B2G, and B2C meetings will be held at the event.
Construction Infra Expo 2022 takes place at a time when the government is focusing heavily on the construction and infrastructure sector to implement regulations that will enable the timely establishment of world-class infrastructure in the country. The sector has seen amazing expansion in the last few years, from motorways to railways to airports and other smart-city efforts.
Roads and highways, airport projects, ports, power plants, rail & urban metro, dams & bridges, hotels & resorts, Schools, Hospitals, IT parks, retail malls, hypermarkets, multiplexes, integrated townships, real estate, and more will be covered during the event.
As we look ahead to the emerging trends that will shape global economic participation in 2022, we at CII are confident that the Construction & Infra Expo 2022 will serve as a conduit for the world to learn about the opportunities available in India's booming construction and infrastructure market, network with industry peers, strike lucrative business deals, form business partnerships, and form joint ventures.
A variety of engagement virtual tools, such as educational webinars, masterclasses, demonstration sessions, a start-up pavilion, a Business to Contract virtual meet, and case studies on success stories, will enable robust contact and participation from all stakeholders in the sector.
The event's purpose is to highlight, explore and discuss the following industry trends:
- Despite obstacles, several variables have positioned the industry for sustained growth.
- Project delivery and profits are expected to be impacted by supply chain disruption and sourcing problems.
- Connected construction will assist the construction industry in unlocking new value streams.
- Increasing demand for green construction to reduce carbon footprint, bridge lock-up device systems to extend the life of structures, and building information systems for efficient project delivery and margins as the workforce landscape evolves
