The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (‘Code’) is one of the key economic reforms of the Government, providing the much-needed unified legal framework to resolve insolvency and provide faster and efficient exit framework for corporates. The Code and its success are being acknowledged as the biggest drive to put forward a robust legal framework and an effective institutional set-up for creditors and distressed businesses seeking an exit. The amendments now put the same at par with global laws. The Code is a dynamic law and is evolving continuously to meet emerging needs.

Against this background, CII along with National Foundation for Corporate Governance (NFCG) and Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) is organizing a 2 day Virtual Conference titled “Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 "5 Years of Bankruptcy Code and Beyond” on 2-3 September 2021. The Conference will trace the 5 years of the Code; various recent legislative and judicial developments that have recently been brought in force; prepack insolvency; cross border and group insolvency. This will help all the participants to gain a better understanding of the Code and the Jurisprudence that has enriched practice under it – while readying the ecosystem for new provisions on the anvil.
