Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India is hosting the 28th edition of the DST – CII Technology Summit on 23-24 February 2022 (over a virtual platform). Singapore is the Partner Country for Technology Summit in 2022.
Technology Summit over a period of more than two decades has been instrumental in providing significant opportunities to forge and foster bilateral technology partnerships.
The relation between India and Singapore dates back to 14th century when Singapore was a juncture in the ancient route between India and Southeast Asia. Since then, there has been an upswing in the science, technology, trade and investment ties between India and Singapore. Today, Singapore ranks 8th among the 132 economies featured in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2021. At the same time, India is progressively marching towards becoming a global leader in science and technological development. As India marches towards its 75th year of Independence in 2022, it is important to build this momentum further and take Indo-Singapore partnership to the next heights.
The aforesaid summit shall provide the right platform to further deepen this interaction, explore further opportunities in the businesses and investment arenas, and to scale up the bilateral cooperation. The summit is expected to be a turning point as it will lead to an interaction amongst a wide gamut of technology experts, government leaders, eminent academicians, industry stalwarts and start-ups from India and Singapore.
The focus areas would be Smarter Cities, Space, Industry 4.0 and Advanced Engineering, Healthcare, Precision Medicine, Mobility etc.
Dr Jitendra Singh, Hon'ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Transport and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Singapore have confirmed their presence for the Summit.
