The ripple effects of the ongoing pandemic on the Indian economy have been huge and caused businesses in multiple sectors to face severe losses. In a fast-developing country like India, MSMEs are the backbone of the economy. As it combats the coronavirus, India needs to support MSMEs and boost domestic production for ensuring its supply chains are not unduly disrupted.
Despite their importance for the economy, MSMEs are bogged down by considerable constraints that dwarf their growth potential. Lack of access to key resources such as finance, skilled manpower, infrastructure, market access, etc, pose significant challenges for MSMEs to attain global competitiveness.
CII believes that there is a need to strengthen the entire support structure – relating to mentoring, financing, quality standards, marketing inputs and technology acquisition for MSMEs. CII intends to play a significant role in this endeavour by supporting MSMEs of the Region.
Against this backdrop, CII is organizing the 9th Edition of “CII MSME Conclave– East & North East” at 1500 Hrs on 04 September 2021 through virtual platform.
